The MIPO course is specifically designed for people who wish to be a Member Protection Officer in their sporting club.
1. MIPO’s are trained to be the first point of contact for any person considering making a complaint under the sports member protection policy, particularly in relation to complaints about harassment, discrimination, bullying and a use.
2. As the MIPO, you will provide confidential, impartial and timely information and support.
3. You must act as a sounding board and provide information about the local complaint resolution options available to address the persons concerns.
4. You are not advocates but may elect to accompany complaints, if requested, to talk to someone else.
You will receive a regular Play by the rules e-bulletin which gives you all the latest news and activity around fair, safe and inclusive sport.
You will have access to further opportunities to develop professional skills and knowledge in the area of Member Protection.
You will receive a certificate of recognition.
As our club is incorporated, we will have to have a MIPO in place for the new 2017/2018 season.
The course is being held next week here in Mandurah, but there is an online prerequisite that needs to be completed prior to the face to face course.
Anyone interested in taking on this position, please contact me ASAP so I can give you the link for the online component.
