Great sportsmanship

I’m not sure how much each parent heard about what went on in Saturday’s game regarding the intellectually disabled boy Riley, playing for halls head.
Their coach Dave asked me if we could go easy on the runouts as Riley sometimes forgets to run, and some of the other teams were taking advantage
I told the boys this before we went out to bowl, but they wanted to take it a step further and bowl slowly to him also. Not only that, whenever Riley hit the ball they all encouraged him and told him how well he was doing, and then, at the end of his innings gave him the best round of applause for any batsmen all year!!
Dave was really appreciative after the game and told me to thank the our team.
I can’t stress enough how proud I was of the boys for the sportsmanship and empathy they showed, it says a lot about how these kids have been raised, the parents should all be very proud.
